International Services directs the BYU Exchange Visitor Program in cooperation with the university's sponsoring departments. We recognize that visiting scholars and researchers are important assets and resources to BYU, and we are wholly committed to assisting your department whenever you invite international scholars to campus.

Departments have responsibility to:

• appropriately invite exchange visitors to campus,
• provide program information before their program begins,
• encourage them to maintain their status,
• connect them with local friend families,
• direct visitors to International Services for check in and
  
• insure that they have been hired properly.

Exchange visitors have responsibility to understand and comply with the necessary regulations regarding their activities and status.

Because there are many details and critical legal requirements to which the exchange visitors and their sponsors must attend, this site will assist your department in appropriately meeting specific responsibilities to its exchange visitors.
